As parents brought their children to Jesus the disciples tried to dissuade them. This displeased Jesus and he rebuked his disciples for their misplaced zeal. They, no doubt, thought that the kingdom of God was an adult affair and children who were weak and dependent had little to contribute. Jesus demonstrated remarkable concern for children. He stated that the kingdom of God belongs to children. Unless we repent and become like them we cannot enter God's kingdom. Jesus brought a kingdom that turned earthly kingdoms on their heads. This sermon offers practical steps towards ministry with and toward children.
